There are many questions that our customers have about our industry, how we compare to fixed-site body shops, and about how we work as an individual business. If we haven't answered your question here please get in touch and ask away!
A: Yes, our body repairs come with a lifetime ownership guarantee; for as long as you own the vehicle we will rectify any issue that may occur. We use the best quality products and processes to give us and yourself confidence in our repairs which allows us to offer this.
Alloy wheels are given a one year guarantee due to the harsher conditions they are exposed to.
A: Yes! Sometimes people have low expectations of mobile repairs, picturing a dull finish and mismatched paint. This is not what we do. We are built on a bodyshop background and use the same paints and processes. This means that all our paint repairs will match the existing paintwork on your vehicle and once your scratch or dent is repaired it will look as if it was never there.
A: Repair times will vary depending on the damage and where on the vehicle it is. A typical bumper corner scratch can be repaired in as little as two to three hours. Typically a set of alloy wheels with curbing damage will take half a day.
We will let you know an estimate of how long is needed with each quote we give.
A: As soon as we've finished! All paint repairs are fully baked using infa-red heat lamps which cure the top coat of lacquer into a hard layer.
We advise caution for the following few days, including avoiding the use of polishes, waxes and chemicals so the lacquer can fully harden, after which no special care is needed.
A: Our industry is very tightly controlled due to the hazardous nature of the products used within the body repair process. We use the latest water-based paints which are much kinder to the environment than the previous solvent-based or cellulose paints which some bodyshops still use.
We are always looking at the latest products and developments in order to reduce our impact on the planet we all share, and this includes recycling up to 90% of our waste!
A: We certainly can, all we need to carry out our repairs is space to park our van nearby, space to work around the damaged area, and a mains power supply within 30m.
If you would like us to come to your workplace, ensure you have permission from your employer and ensure your vehicle is parked as far away from other cars as possible.
A: As with all types of trades, the biggest factor in the quality of work is the individual person. We have many years of both bodyshop experience and mobile repairs; this combined experience is put into our work and is what sets us apart from the competition. We do not believe a mobile repair should be a compromise on quality; we provide bodyshop quality repairs through a more convenient and faster setup which allows us to keep costs down for you.
A: We wouldn't use the word cheaper, but we are certainly able to offer a lower price than traditional fixed-site bodyshops!
They key to this is not having the large overheads of a brick-and-mortar workshop, which require rent, rates, heating and lighting. Our mobile workshop is a large long wheelbase van which enables us to house all the equipment we need to carry out the same scratch and dent repairs that a bodyshop would.
In addition modern advanced techniques and new equipment allow us to keep repairs smaller and use less man-hours and materials than a bodyshop is able to, these are savings that we are able to pass on to you as our customer meaning less money leaving your pocket for the same repair!
A: Our PDR Paintless Dent Repair methods have no effect on a manufacturers warranty as there are no changes made to the vehicle or its paintwork; small dents are carefully pushed back into shape by highly skilled technicians.
Our paint repairs will not effect any warranty for mechanical or functional issues with the vehicle. However most manufacturers have paintwork warranties which cover against rust, blistering, peeling and other paint defects from the factory. If we have carried out a repair on a panel of the vehicle the manufacturers paint warranty for that panel only will be invalidated, but you will be covered by our lifetime warranty for that panel. The rest of the vehicle will still be covered by the manufacturers paintwork warranty, so you aren't at risk of loosing out.
A: We remove the wheels from the vehicle, and the tyres are fully deflated and the outer edge of the tyre is pushed back from the rim; this is called breaking the outer bead of the tyre. This allows us to repair the wheel without the tyre impeding our work and also allows the new paint to fully seal around the lip of the wheel and under the edge of the tyre which ensures a more durable and lasting repair.
Because the tyre isn't fully removed its orientation to the wheel isn't altered and so does not need rebalancing which would be an extra cost. Once the repair is complete your tyre pressures and wheel bolt torque are set as per manufactures recommendation.
A: Whilst we do not use a lathe, we sand back the top surface of the wheel in the same way that a lathe does to produce a smooth, flat, bare metal surface. We reintroduce the cutting lines that the lathe puts in from factory and the end result is virtually indistinguishable from the factory finish. Diamond cutting lathes are enormously expensive to buy, maintain, and operate which is why the cost of a lathe-cut repair is so expensive. It is because of this that we choose to offer a more cost-effective repair method instead.
A: Our setup includes a large canopy which offers shelter from both sun and the rain so we are able to continue working unaffected through most types of weather. In the winter we have heat lamps which keep our paints and the panel up to working temperature, so while repairs may take longer the end result is no different. However, in particularly cold spells (typically below zero) we may need to rebook for another day depending on the type of repair. Wind is the hardest weather to deal with, where there are days of high wind speed or strong gusts, especially when coupled with rain we may need to rebook your repair for a different day.
Our main focus is the quality of your repair, and so we would rather move your repair to another day than carry out a sub-standard repair. However, this typically only happens a couple of times a year and we would be in full contact with you in the lead up to your repair as we keep an eye on upcoming weather conditions.
